Russ is the Corporate Health Safety Environmental & Regulatory Director for Sequitur Energy
Resources and SEM Operating Company LLC (collectively Sequitur). Sequitur is a growth-
oriented, independent oil and gas producer with upstream assets in the Permian Basin with over
88,000 acres in active development. Russ manages a team of 9 HSE professionals that are
driving a culture of going above and beyond compliance.

Russ has over 30 years of HSE experience in the metals, mining, and energy industries; a
combination that has created a unique set of technical expertise involving Regulatory
Compliance, Consent Order Management, Due Diligence, Ethics, Environmental Auditing,
Permitting, and Remediation Management.

Russ has a regulatory acumen in delivering compliance systems that provides Management
knowledge of on-time and accurate delivery. Prior to his role at Sequitur he lead a team at BP
to develop and successfully manage BP’s Legal & Regulatory Commitments following the
Deepwater Horizon Incident to achieve 100% compliance of all committed government
agreements, Consent Orders, and their criminal plea agreement implementation plan.
Russ is a Licensed Professional Geologist in the State of Texas and holds a Bachelor of
Science degree in Geology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
